In order to own and operate The Woman's Art Club Cultural Center, we created The Woman's Art Club Foundation, a 501c3 non-profit organization. All donations to the Foundation are tax-deductible. Restoration of the barn formerly known as "Resthaven Barn" is now in the planning stages. John Grier has been hired as architect for the project, which could cost as much at $1.5 million. The estimated completion date is April 1, 2008. This restoration project is listed in Heritage Ohio’s "Top 10 Opportunities" list. (Heritageohio.org) Fund raising is now underway. To honor this founding location of United Dairy Farmers, the Lindner Family has donated $500,000 to get us started. Money is coming in from other foundations, Woman's Art Club members, and Mariemont residents. We hope to raise the full amount in time to restore the Barn in its entirety by next spring. If not, the restoration will be done in phases, beginning with the necessary requirements for water, electric, insulation, etc. When the Barn opens as "The Woman's Art Club Cultural Center", a variety of art programs and classes will be available for adults and children, as well as outreach and mentoring programs to neighboring schools. Progress at the Barn can be seen on our blog: Click Here. |
